Skilled Migration

in order to obtain an Australian Skilled visa an applicant must meet certain requirements and gain a score of at least 65 points that mainly granted for the level of their education, the duration of their work experience, partner qualifications, fluency in English and their age.

The occupation of the applicant must be on the list of occupations in demand in Australia (the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL)* or sponsored by Australian state/territory or an Australian relative. The sponsorship could bring the applicant additional 5 or 15 points.

The applicant must also meet the English language requirement by demonstrating that they have Competent English being an IELTS test score of at least 6 in each of the four components or corresponding results in any of the other specified tests. Be aware, that some assessing authorities as well as states/territories have a higher requirement for the level of English proficiency in some particular occupations.

The immigration process under Skilled migration consists of the following stages:

1.Skills assessment – a certificate, confirming that the level of knowledge and skills is comparable to the level of knowledge and skills for the same occupation in Australia (generally this stage could take approximately 2-6 months).

2.Expression of interest in obtaining an Australian visa (EOI) – a mandatory requirement for a visa application process that, however, does not guarantee a visa

3.State Sponsorship (if needed). This stage could take approximately 3-6 months

4.     Application for a visa
